The Mihawk Theory: Is He Rayleigh And Shakky's Son?
Like all awesome One Piece characters before him, the origin story of Dracule "Hawk Eyes" Mihawk is surrounded by mystery. However, is it possible that the "Strongest Swordsman in the World" is the son of Silvers Rayleigh and Shakuyaku?
While the parental theory regarding Mihawk has floated on the internet for quite some time, megashadowdragon wrote up a good explanation as to why Rayleigh and Shakky are his parents. First things first: Rayleigh and Shakky are business partners and husband and wife. Mihawk was 41 in his debut. Shakky left piracy 42 years after meeting the Straw Hats. Post-time skip, it’s revealed Rayleigh is 78; Shakky is 64, and Mihawk is 43. Which would make Rayleigh 35 and Shakky 21; a plausible age range to be Mihawk’s parents.

In addition to sharing the shame fashion sense, Mihawk and Rayleigh have a connection with each other through their names. Mihawk's given name is Dracule, who is often referred to as the Dark Prince, while Rayleigh is commonly referred to as the “Dark King.” There’s a deeper vampiric connection in Silvers Rayleigh’s name too. Although silver is associated as a weakness to werewolves, it is also a supernatural kryptonite to vampires as well, such as Dracula himself. To top it off, Shakky’s bobcut is just as pointy as Mihawk’s sideburns. Coincidence? Perhaps, but it’s a funny observation nonetheless.
